After two long years, the Auckland Food Show is BACK!!!

Held at the Auckland Showgrounds over four days (Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 July 2023), The Auckland Food Show showcases the best in food, drink and kitchen equipment from product owners around the country.

There is so much to sample and buy at The Food Show, plus you get the opportunity to meet and talk with the owners behind all your favourite brands, and sample new and existing food and drink products. There are also fabulous specials on the products – see below for my favourites!

Ticket entry (purchase here) also includes cooking demonstrations by some of your favourite culinary stars at the NEFF Cooking Theatre! There will be 19 sessions over the four days, featuring Julie Goodwin (Australia’s first ever MasterChef), Annabelle White, Sid Sahrawat and many more. Check out the timetable here.

Mazda Food Show Shuttle

The Food Show and Mazda have partnered to bring you the Mazda Food Show Shuttle! Simply head to the designated pick-up point to be kindly delivered to one of five drop-off points closest to your car, for an optional gold coin donation to Auckland City Mission. More details here.

This year, I was invited along to the VIP Media Breakfast, held at the venue before the show started (pr/ad). We enjoyed coffee and breakfast foods (highlights were the Marcel’s blini with Aoraki Salmon, pastries, pineapple with mint and black pepper and yoghurt with muesli). Prior to the show, I received a goodie bag featuring a wonderful array of products. A HUGE thanks to The PR Shop for our invite and passes.

Side note – I cannot recommend The Food Show Trolley enough! For quite a few years, I thought, I wouldn’t be caught dead with one of their trollies! However, it is a must if you are attending the Show, especially if you intend to purchase a lot of products – so much better than carrying 5 x bags around!

• Aoraki Salmon is my favourite stand at The Food Show, having discovered it a few year’s ago – you could say I have been in love with their products ever since! Freshwater king salmon from Aoraki / Mount Cook and tastes heavenly. Highly recommend their hot smoked salmon.

• Jenny’s Kitchen Tamarind Chutney is one of my favourite NZ products and the most divine chutney you will ever eat. I love spreading it on pizza, adding it to my meals or just eating it out of the jar. The Extra Hot is HOTTTTTT but it is the BEST.

• Elysian Foods is a small, family run business based in Wellington, producing Mediterranean dips and delights! • Pic’s Peanut Butter are the OG of peanut butter! My family swore by Pic’s Peanut Butter for years, before they started making their own. • Countdown Supermarkets – if you love fresh fruit and vegetables, then definitely check out this zone. Meet the growers behind all the fruit and vegetables sold at Countdown, including: AS Wilcox Inca Gold Potatoes, FreshWest capsicums, Kaipara Kumara, King Avocado, Odd Bunch and Turners and Growers – all with delicious tastings! Highlights included the capsicums, baby cucumbers, pineapple and rockmelon.
  
• Silver Fern Farms I am a HUGE fan of, and regularly buy their products. They make quality New Zealand lamb, beef and venison.
