Peanut Butter Acai Bowl

I recently purchased Hippie Lane: The Cookbook by Taline Gabriel. It is filled with deliciously ‘luxe’ wholefood recipes, split into four sections – Rise + Shine, Lunch Vibes, Dinner Dates and Sweet Fix. I have been an avid follower of Taline Gabriel on Instagram for a while now. Her food inspires me daily and thus, have put this into perspective for 2018. I have never been one for New Year’s Resolutions, but I thought this year, I will finally jump on the bandwagon. Mine is to follow and maintain a healthy lifestyle by focusing on wholefoods (like fruits and vegetables, wholegrains, healthy proteins and fats), cutting down on refined sugar and processed foods, exercising daily and keeping up my water intake.  I have a mega sweet tooth, so it will be a challenge, but one I am willing to give my 100%. I will still be posting about eats in Auckland, new products and adventures on here and on my Instagram and Facebook pages, plus will have the occasional treat now and then (my weaknesses are ice cream, …

Summer with UberEATS

Summer has officially arrived in New Zealand! When I think of summer, I picture swimming at the beach, chasing waterfalls, hiking through native bush, going strawberry picking and visiting my favourite vineyards. And for those simple days, relaxing by the pool with friends… eating delicious, fresh and healthy food of course, without having to leave your sun chair! Thanks to the Uber Eats app for making this possible! Last weekend, the sun was shining and there was not a cloud in the sky, so we headed down to the pool. I opened the Uber Eats app on my phone, and was excited to discover one of the app’s newest eateries – Cali Press. Their aim is to create a fun and natural way of clean living, by serving healthy and delicious juices, smoothies, superfood breakfast bowls and wholesome meals. Sounded like the perfect breakfast to me! We ordered two Superfood Breakfast Bowls, two Toast Bar – Toppers and the Ah-Sah-Ee (Acai) Smoothie. The Superfood Breakfast Bowls are the perfect poolside breakfast – you can have a few …

Tiramisu Pavlova

‘Tis the season for fun, sun and glorious food – Christmas is almost here! My absolute favourite dessert around Christmas time is Pavlova, served with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries and passionfruit.  This year, I will be trying something different because the good folk at Tatua kindly sent me a selection of their products to whip up their spin on my favourite Christmas dessert – Tiramisu Pavlova (otherwise known as ‘Tiralova’ to all the serious pav-lovers). The recipe is simple and quick to prepare – I whipped it up in my office at work, so you can literally prepare it anywhere, any time. All you need is a homemade or store bought pavlova, a few pantry staples, plus three Tatua products – Crème Fraiche, Dairy Whip and Chef de Can Chocolate Mousse. I am a huge fan of Dairy Whip – it is something I will eat straight out of the can, but it is also delicious on Pavlova too. TIRAMISU PAVLOVA Ingredients 1 homemade or store-bought Pavlova 200gms Tatua Crème Fraiche 1 tablespoon of instant …

Georgie’s Favourite Foods Party

Today I turned 26 – woohoo! Over the weekend, I celebrated my birthday. I usually spend the whole year planning it – previous years, I have had a ‘G Party’ where everyone came dressed as something starting with the letter ‘G’, a Hawaiian Luau, complete with a pineapple cake, pina coladas, and luau dancing etc, and last year I had a Mexican Fiesta… it was so much fun! Fast forward to this year, all I wanted to do was go out for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert. Seeing as it just wasn’t practical, I turned to my food blogger friends for advice. Thanks to Bri, she came up with the brilliant idea of holding a buffet style lunch at my house, featuring all my favourite foods. Introducing, Georgie’s Favourite Foods Party. I am forever grateful for the generous amount of food provided from some of my favourite eateries. Check out what we ate for lunch below, plus something fun we did (DIY ice cream bar), the CAKE, and a fun surprise for my …

Following on from my first post of Georgieats’ Weekly Faves, and in memory of attending The Food Show this time last week, I will be sharing my favourite foodie products which I purchased at The Food Show. It is the most divine chutney you will ever eat, and tastes great with everything. I love spreading it on pizza, adding it to salads, with vegetables, with lasagna, or simply eating it straight out of the jar. I especially love their X-hot flavour! Below is a Caramelised Onion, Chicken …

Georgieats’ Weekly Faves

Hello Readers! I would love to introduce you to my new series, Georgieats’ Weekly Faves, featuring a lowdown of my favourite foodie products of the week (some of which are gifted and others I have purchased online or over the weekend). Enjoy! Follow me on Instagram (@_georgieats_) to see me discover new eateries, try out new foodie places and products and see previews of blog posts! Weekly Faves Mango and Passionfruit Craft Yoghurts by The Collective I am loving the two new tasty additions to The Collective’s Craft Yoghurt Range – Mango and Passionfruit! These yoghurts are made the old fashioned way – freshly warmed milk and active cultures are left to naturally set, resulting in a silky, thick and creamy yoghurt. Combine that with a fruity compote and you’ve got a winner! So far, I have eaten both yoghurts straight out of the tub and made a breakfast bowl (above), with the new Mango yoghurt, Weetbix, chopped mango and fresh passionfruit, in my new Coconut Bowl. Yum!
