Hello readers!

Since starting my foodie ‘gram and this blog, people often ask me for advice on the best eateries in Auckland. They inquire about my favourite dinner spots and where to have breakfast in Auckland CBD. Others want to know where I go food shopping and, of course, what the best desserts are. So, I decided to start my own Auckland Food Guide.

Below is my ultimate guide to all things FOOD. This guide includes breakfast, brunch, and coffee spots. You will find the best doughnuts and pastries, ice cream, cakes, and desserts. There are also cool casual eats, cocktail bars, and BYO’s. Food-related activities, markets, and shopping are featured as well.

I first started this list in 2017. I have since been keeping it up to date to include new openings. I will link each place to my Instagram posts or blog posts. Alternatively, I will use my favourite Auckland content creator’s blog posts or Instagram posts.

Enjoy!

^ Georgie

FOOD ACTIVITIES | EVENTS

Auckland Fish Market
Most of you will already know, but earlier this year, the Auckland Fish Market underwent renovations for nine months to include eight new eateries, a courtyard bar, a world class fishmonger – Sanford & Sons and seating for 400 inside and out, making it an ideal dining destination for Aucklander’s and for tourists alike. The newly refurbished Auckland Fish Market is a celebration of New Zealand seafood โ€“ in fact it sells the widest range of the freshest seafood available, straight from the boats to your dinner table.

Taste of Auckland
Sadly, Taste of Auckland is no longer running. It was one of my favourite foodie events of the year, so I had to keep it in this guide. Taste of Auckland is ideal for those who love food, cooking and everything in between. Like The Foodie Show, it is ultimate foodie heaven. Taste showcases some of Aucklandโ€™s best restaurants. These are all in pop up style at the festival. You can buy 3-4 dishes. The ticket entry to Taste includes trying new and existing food products from all over New Zealand. You can watch your favourite chefs cooking in action as part of the Electrolux Taste Theatre. You can also lounge on sun chairs while listening to live music. Read more here: 20142015201620172018 and 2019.

The Chocolate and Coffee Show
Held at The Cloud on Queenโ€™s Wharf. The Chocolate and Coffee Show celebrates everything indulgent. It ranges from boutique chocolatiers and artisan coffee roasters to producers of tasty treats. There are also talks and cooking demonstrations. You can get involved in various masterclasses like barista skills, cupcake decorating, and workshops. A great day out if you love chocolate or coffee, or both! Read more here and here.
