Georgieats’ Guide to New York

New York. A few months’ ago, I visited The City That Never Sleeps – New York. I am already dying to go back. Why you may ask? Well, New York is like no other place I have ever visited. The majority of my time spent in New York made me feel like I was on the set of several films I had ever seen. Yes, I admit, the majority of films and television shows I have watched inspired me to visit New York. Coming from a small scale city, New York was draw-dropping in real life. From the skyscrapers, to the office buildings, the wonderful street art, the eclectic mix of people… plus the fact that you can get any cuisine you want any time of the day AND the endless amount of things to do. Every day I spent walking around this exciting city, I felt like I was in a dream because it is a truly magical place! One of the main reasons why I travelled to New York was because a few years …

Major Sprout

If you are looking for the perfect inner city breakfast spot, then Major Sprout may just be the best choice. It ticks all the boxes – delicious food, great coffee and efficient service. Major Sprout is owned by David Lee, who also runs the popular eateries Dear Jervois in Herne Bay and Little King in Milford. I admit, Major Sprout opened in November 2015… so I am a bit late to the party. But it was definitely worth the wait, especially for their famous and Insta-worthy buttermilk pancakes. Inside, the fit out is modern, light and airy, with greenery in every corner and plenty of seating options. We arrived quite early (8.30am) so there was no need to make a reservation, but any later, I would definitely recommend booking a table. To start, I enjoyed a Mocha (using Flight Coffee), which was the perfect temperature, creamy and gone in a flash. My sister also loved their Turmeric Latte. If …

Brunch & Cake, Barcelona

A little excerpt on my love for Brunch & Cake in Barcelona… Brunch & Cake, I love you.  Even though I am now on the other side of the world, I still think about your iced coffees with cream on top, your sweet and tropical fruit and I cannot forget, those amazing ricotta pancakes with strawberries, coconut and maple syrup that you served to me on that hot and sticky morning.  Yes, there may have been plastic in my iced coffee the first time I met you, but you apologised and quickly made me another one.  You and all your friends were so friendly and helpful, which is why I had to come back a second time! Every day I miss your wonderful food and drink and I dream about the next time I’ll be in Barcelona, because the first stop will be you, Brunch & Cake, because I love you… Brunch & Cake Carrer Enric Granados, 19, L’Eixample Open Monday to Thursday – 8.30am to 9.30pm and Friday to Sunday – 8.30am to 10pm Perfect for breakfast …
